• Passyunk Square


    Passyunk Square is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia bounded by Broad Street to the west, 6th Street to the east, Tasker Street to the south and Washington Avenue to the north. Passyunk Square is bordered by the Bella Vista, Hawthorne, Central South Philadelphia, Whartonand Point Breeze neighborhoods.

    The neighborhood is best known for its shopping and restaurants along the East Passyunk Avenue corridor.

    East Passyunk Avenue features a large number of privately owned shops, restaurants, and grocery stores; additionally, it has a number of businesses such as insurance offices, salons, and pharmacies

    Passyunk Square also houses the famed Pat’s and Geno’s Steak shops where you can order the famous philly cheesesteaks. Cheesesteaks aside, East Passyunk Avenue has been named one of the Top 10 Foodie Streets in America by Food & Wine Magazine where you can find some of South Philadelphia’s oldest and most authentic traditional Italian restaurants, cozy BYOBs, pubs that have taken bar food to a whole new culinary level, healthy wraps and panini, modern eclectic cuisine, the heart of the Philly cheesesteak battle, and fine dining fit for any special occasion. 

    Along with terrific dining, you can shop at the small boutiques or attend a special event such as Flavors of the Avenue and Second Saturday. There is also a weekly farmer’s market!

    Passyunk Square is located in the Jackson Catchment. School District of Philadelphia operates public schools Portions of the area are served by Andrew Jackson Elementary School and Furness High School.
